Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

We all know that getting your site to appear in the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages) is the major player in getting traffic to your site. Just appearing isn't enough though. You need to appear in at least the first three pages (according to research surfers seldom go beyond this) and if you really want to be seen you need to be in the top 10 results.

Q. There are hundreds of search engines, do I need to submit my site to them all?
A. Thankfully no but a good start would be to submit to:

Click the name to go to the appropriate page

Google
Yahoo
Ask
MSN

Q. OK I get that, but what the heckers do I do next then??
A. Work, work, work!

Below are some hand picked resources which have sound advice on how to achieve this naturally. By "naturally" I mean without spending a fortune on buying ad's and traffic. Don't expect overnight success however, as the main message you will see over and over is that this process takes time but as the old saying goes.."all good things come to those who wait."
